With a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice and a background rooted in high-stress, high-responsibility environments, Shawn understands trauma not just clinically, but personally. He knows what it means to carry invisible wounds, lead through crisis, and walk through life after service — all of which deepen his capacity to connect with others on a profound level. His lived experience allows him to work exceptionally well with veterans, first responders, law enforcement professionals, and those impacted by moral injury, PTSD, or identity loss.
He also understands the demands placed on the spouses and families of those in these roles, and the unique emotional and relational sacrifices they make — often silently. This insight fuels his compassion for supporting not only the individual but the systems surrounding them.
What truly defines Shawn is his deeply rooted empathy and his passion for witnessing transformation. He brings a rare combination of strength and sensitivity — creating a safe, judgment-free space for clients to be vulnerable, understood, and empowered. He is especially passionate about walking with individuals and couples through trauma, addiction, dual diagnosis, personality disorders, identity struggles, and relationship challenges.

Alongside Jerry specializes in working with individuals struggling with trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use, identity challenges, relationship difficulties, and emotional dysregulation. Drawing from advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), he helps clients identify and reprocess painful experiences, replace negative core beliefs, and develop healthier ways of thinking, coping, and connecting.
As someone who has personally walked through adversity and recovery, Jerry believes healing happens best through authenticity, trust, and genuine human connection. Rather than offering surface-level support, he strives to meet each client exactly where they are—with honesty, compassion, and a commitment to meaningful transformation. He understands that therapy is not always easy work, but believes lasting healing is possible when clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported.
Jerry earned his Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University with a specialization in trauma and addiction counseling. He is passionate about helping clients rediscover hope, rebuild confidence, and create meaningful change in their lives, relationships, and future.
Clients working with Jerry can expect a collaborative and individualized approach to therapy that prioritizes safety, trust, and practical growth. Treatment is tailored to each person’s unique needs, goals, and experiences rather than a one-size-fits-all model. Whether someone is facing overwhelming trauma, addiction, relationship struggles, or simply feeling stuck, Jerry believes no one should have to suffer in silence.
At the heart of his work is one core belief: healing is possible, recovery is real, and transformation can happen—even after the darkest seasons of life.

Early in his career, Scott was influenced by the humanistic tradition of Leo Buscaglia and the existential clarity of psychiatrist David Viscott. From these perspectives, he developed a therapeutic philosophy that remains central to his practice today: therapy must be both compassionate and courageous. Insight alone does not create change. Growth requires accountability, emotional honesty, and intentional action.
Scott believes therapy is an active, collaborative process. A safe and supportive environment is essential — but so is structure. Clients are respected fully, while also being gently guided to examine patterns that no longer serve them.
Much of Scott’s clinical career has focused on addiction and behavioral health. Through decades of work in this field, he developed a clear understanding: behavioral struggles are rarely isolated diagnoses. They are often patterns rooted in emotional regulation difficulties, shame, identity conflict, trauma exposure, and learned coping systems. Sustainable healing is not simply symptom management — it is the development of internal stability and a life lived intentionally rather than reactively.
Scott has worked extensively with adults from diverse backgrounds, including over twenty years of affirming clinical work within the LGBTQIA+ community. This experience deepened his understanding of identity development, minority stress, relational complexity, and the impact of internalized narratives across populations. His approach remains inclusive, respectful, and clinically grounded.
Clinically, Scott integrates cognitive-behavioral strategies, emotional regulation tools, motivational interviewing, solution-focused techniques, trauma-informed principles, and relationally grounded person-centered foundations. Structure is used thoughtfully and flexibly — always in service of the client’s goals.
